"WHO DO YOU SAY I AM?

Let Peter answer for all of us:
"You are the Christ, the Son of the living God".

Jesus' response to Peter's expression of faith in him is very significant, because Peter could only have recognised Jesus as the Messiah, through the revelation of his heavenly Father.

In this secular, almost Godless world, divine revelation of the Gospel truths of salvation through Jesus Christ is urgently required.

Let us pray that the Holy Spirit will touch the hearts of those who do not recognise Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour.

WORLD YOUTH DAY PILGRIMS

Four parishioners are part of a group of 67 young people from the Diocese who join Bishop Smith for World Youth Day in Cologne, along with Pope Benedict and nearly 1 million  other young people from around the world.
Those travelling from Meath Diocese, will partake in what's called "Days in the Diocese" before heading on to Cologne.  In the Diocese of Hildesheim, where the body of St Oliver Plunkett was kept for years after his execution, the young pilgrims are to be hosted by families so as to experience life, faith and culture in a German community.
They will also visit Bergen Belsen concentration camp to mark 60 years since its liberation.  While in Cologne, they will join in the week long programme with Pope Benedict.
Please remember the group in your prayers from 10th-22nd Aug, as they will you and the people, young and old, of the Diocese.

My life is a celebration.
It is time for you to look for the joy,
the delight and the wonder of every day and rejoice in it..
