Baptisms For May/June 2013

The next pre-baptism meeting is on Wednesday 15th May for the following Baptism dates:

Saturday 18th & Saturday 25th May & Sunday 2nd. June in Tullamore.

There will NOT be Baptism in Durrow in June.

There are normally four dates for Baptism in the parish. They are as follows:

Tullamore: 1st Sunday 2.15pm, 3rd. and 4th. Saturday 4.15pm of every month.
Durrow: 2nd Sunday, 12.15pm of every month

Pre Baptism Meetings: On the third Wednesday of every month at 8.00pm in the Parish Centre.
The next pre-baptism meeting is on Wednesday Wed Jan. 16th.

Baptisms may be provisionally booked through the Parish Secretary. However these dates will only be confirmed on attendance at a pre-baptism meeting.

Child for Baptism?

Each year about 170 baptisms take place in the parish. We are delighted with the opportunity this provides to meet with the families concerned and we work hard to ensure that the ceremony itself will be both relaxed and memorable for all. Because of the large numbers of people involved we appreciate very much if the procedures outlined here can be followed:

1. Booking - Contact the parish secretary to provisionally book the date for baptism.

2. Information night for parent(s) - Held on the 3rd. Wednesday night of every month at 8.00pm in the Parish Centre. This involves explaining the meaning and details of the ceremony, and sorting out practical details.

3. Baptism ceremony - Normally on the 1st Sunday and 3rd & 4th. Saturday of each month in Tullamore church, the 2nd Sunday of each month in Durrow church.

4. A maximum of six children on the day
A team of volunteers help with the running of the information night and the ceremony.

Adult Baptism
We are very happy to make arrangements as required for older children or adults who wish to be baptised.
