SUICIDE AWARENESS
If you are worried about someone or if you are feeling down, lowly and need to talk to someone please talk to: Living Links 086 1600641; Samaritans 1850 609090; Console 1800 201890.
If you are concerned about someone you can follow these three steps.
1. Show you care. Offer support and let them know you care. Say something like, “I'm worried about you and I want to help”; “What's up? I'm very worried about you”; “Whatever's bothering you we will get through this together”.
2. Ask the Question Don't be afraid to discuss suicide. Asking about it won't put the idea in people's heads: “Do you feel like harming yourself?” “Do you feel like ending your life?”; “Are you so down that you just want to end it all?”
3. Call for help Encourage them to look for help; “Let's talk to someone who can help”; “I will stay with you until you get help”; “You're not alone and there are people who can help you out of this situation”. For more information go to www.tullamoreparish.ie
“God is in the centre of every persons present moment, therefore no one is ordinary”.
On occasions such as the death of a loved one we see how precious life is. We see how much people depend on one another, rely on one another. We realise that our presence or our absence in this world does make a difference.
