Doubting or Believing?By his doubting and his explicit act of faith, “My Lord and my God”, Thomas teaches us the important lesson that we must not separate the Resurrection from the Cross. We cannot live the life of grace, the “risen life” honestly, unless we bear in our bodies the wounds of the cross. This means being conscious that we develop the capacity to love and to be loved only by dying to ourselves. Our “wounds” are a constant reminder of our frailty. It is God’s grace that raises us up to new life.
As the sun makes ice melt, kindness causes misunderstanding, mistrust and hostility to evaporate.

DIVINE MERCYIn recent times, the Sunday after Easter has become known as Divine Mercy Sunday. It is fitting that we pause after the furore of Easter to think about our understanding of God as all merciful and compassionate. The Easter mystery reminds us that in Baptism we become the children of God. In Jesus we share in God's life, just as in Jesus God shared in ours. Because we often fall short of the mark, we constantly have to return to God to ask for his forgiveness and help. The Divine Mercy of God is never failing. We should never doubt the greatness of his infinite love. No matter how far we stray or wander, the loving kindness of the heart of our God, is always there to welcome us home.As we remember Divine Mercy, as we pray God will have mercy on us and on the whole world. Never forget we have been bought and paid for by the blood of Jesus. As we hope to share in his Resurrection, let us cling to his Divine Mercy, knowing that he is there to welcome us home and to help us start again.I know that my Redeemer lives; What comfort this sweet sentence gives! He lives, He lives, who once was dead; He lives, my ever-living Head.He lives and grants me daily breath; He lives, and I shall conquer death: He lives my mansion to prepare; He Iives to bring me safely there.
