TROUBLED HEARTS Jesus assures the troubled disciples that they can trust Him to keep them safe. He tells us the same. If we only know Him by hearsay that might not give us reassurance but if, as Pope Benedict said, "someone becomes a YOU that can uphold you and promise indistructable love", that is security indeed. A personal relationship makes all.the difference. He then tells the disciples that He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. He is the Way home to the Father's house. He has madethe journey before us with all its difficulties and limitations, so He will lead guide and support us on the journey. If we are helpless and know it He will carry us like lambs in His arms. He is the Truth: the Truth in Person. So He is the only one who really knows us. For Him each one of us is unique and irreplaceable and worth laying down His life for... He is the Life. Not a life that ends but Life in all its fulness. However here and now we have to stretch our selfish hearts and learn to love our neighbour as ourself. He will count it as being done for Himself. Then when the time is right He will come and take us to Himself, that where He is we also will be ....at home with Him in our Father's house. NIGHT FEVER The next Night Fever will take place on Saturday 20th. There will be an hour of Adoration for its success on Wednesday 17th at 8.00pm in the Parish Centre. ACCOMMODATING ANNIVERSARY MASSES Over the last 18 months there have been a large number of funerals in the parish. This has had a knock on effect on Month’s Memory and First Anniversary Masses. Both of these are important moments in grief. In order to avoid causing families undue stress, having to wait months to mark these moments, from the first weekend in June two intentions will be combined on Saturday night and 11.30am and 1.00pm Sunday Masses. This applies only to Months Memories and First anniversaries. Both families will be facilitated at the Offertory, ie four gifts will be brought forward. FIRST COMMUNION Congratulations to the children from Scoil Mhuire who received the Eucharist for the first time last Sunday. We wish God’s blessing on them, their families, friends and teachers and all who helped them on their faith journey to this special time. CONFIRMATION Congratulations to our young people who celebrated the Sacrament of Confirmation this weekend. Thank you to the parents, teachers and schools for their work in preparing the candidates and for their help in making the Sacrament so special. Thank you also to those who helped out in the Church yesterday.
