We beseech you, O Lord, let the power of the Holy Spirit be always with us; Let it mercifully purify our hearts, and safeguard us from all harm. Grant this through Christ our Lord, Amen.

Tullamore Parish Prepares for the 50th International Eucharistic Congress
It is now less than a month to the beginning of the Congress. It is important to reflect on how we understand the Congress, and its place in our lives. Basically, it is intended as an international event which offers Catholics throughout the world an opportunity to reflect on the meaning of the Eucharist. It is celebrated at many levels – international, national and local. Locally our programme for the Congress involves an effort to deepen our understanding of the Blessed Eucharist. We do plan to have extra devotions and celebrations in the week leading up to it. The main event is our Special Mass in O’Connor Park on Saturday June 9th, followed by our Corpus Christi Procession from O’Connor Park to O’Connor Square. We hope to have extra periods of Eucharistic Adoration and devotions in the days leading up to our Mass. We take this opportunity to thank all who have donated materials suitable for inclusion in our special patchwork Altar Cloth which will be used at the Mass. We will continue to give information about the Mass in the coming weeks. |
